What hipages costs
hipages charges a monthly subscription that includes credits, and each lead you take costs credits. In October 2026 its four standard plans ran from $139 to $649 a month plus GST. What a lead costs in credits depends on the trade, the area and the job, and hipages does not publish a dollar figure.
Read the contract term before you sign. Check how long the first term is, whether it rolls over, and what is owed if you cancel part way through.
What a website does that hipages does not
Someone who finds your website and rings you is a customer ringing you, not a lead sent to several businesses at once. You are not bidding against the next tradie for that call.
Your reviews, your photos and your service areas build up on something that belongs to you. If you stop paying for hipages, your profile stops bringing work. If you stop changing your website, it keeps working.
Customers check you anyway
People who find you on hipages often search your business name before they ring. A website with your licence number, your photos and your suburbs answers the questions a profile page leaves open.
It also gives your Google Business Profile somewhere to send people. A profile with a website link looks like a business that will still be around next year.
Is hipages worth it?
It can be, when you have just started and need work this week, or you have gaps in the diary that leads will fill. Leads arrive straight away. A website takes weeks to months to start bringing searches from Google.
The two are not either or. Many tradies take leads while the website builds up, then take fewer leads once the phone rings from the site.
What a website costs next to leads
My Basic build is $990 and $99 a month after that, or nothing up front and $198 a month for the first year if you spread it. That is a fixed cost, however many people ring from it.
